Behind Poṣaṇa

Poṣaṇa (Poh-SAH-nah) is a Sanskrit word that translates to nourishment, nurturing, cherishing, and sustaining life.

It also speaks to the holistic act of rearing ~ to provide care, to guide, to raise, to feed, to protect, and to tend to with devotion.

This is the ground from which Poṣaṇa was born ~ its heart, its rhythm, its intention.

Nourish yourself, so you can nourish all that you are called to nurture.

Posana was born from motherhood, but exists to support women and families through every season of life, so they may feel held, grounded, and deeply nourished ~ from menstruation and preconception to pregnancy, postpartum, second spring, and beyond into crown years.

While inspired by women’s nourishment, its offerings are also deeply nourishing for men, children and individuals seeking to feel more nourished, energised, and restored through the many phases of life, making Poṣaṇa a companion for the whole family.

The meaning Poṣaṇa resonated deeply with me as I stepped into motherhood.

Becoming a first-time mother to my daughter opened me in ways I could never have imagined ~ beautifully, and completely.

In the early days of preconception, through pregnancy, and now in my postpartum season, I came to understand both the depth of nourishment required ~ and the reality of depletion. The long days, the quiet exhaustion, the giving of yourself in every moment… and still, you continue.

I realised that to truly nourish and support the mother is vital ~ so she can, in turn, nourish, cherish, and nurture her children and family.

To find a balance between self-care and caring for those we love.

Posana was born in the quiet moments.

Nestled beneath the mountains, in-between naps, in the early morning stillness, dreaming up something more.

Built from my own need for deeper nourishment.

To feel grounded. To feel supported & held through the becoming of motherhood.

Living in the mountains taught me something simple:

Nature restores slowly. It restores fully. And so can we.

I found myself returning to the basics ~ to nature’s wisdom and the simple rituals that nourish us.

With a deep pull to follow this path, I felt called to support other women through all seasons of life ~ women building families, running businesses, healing their bodies, and choosing a slower, more intentional way of living.

Posana is inspired by nature’s nourishment, intentional living, ancestral wisdom, and the belief that wellness doesn’t need to be complicated.

It is built on simplicity. On quality over quantity. On soil, stewardship, and deep reverence for the animal.

Every product is intentionally sourced from 100% grass-fed and finished bovine, raised as nature intended ~ on pasture, under open skies, without hormones, unnecessary antibiotics, or artificial additives.
