Frequently Asked Questions

General

How can i contact you?

Please feel free to contact our customer support via Connect on the websites main-menu and simply fill out our contact form or email directly to hello@posana.earth

How do i make a review?

You can simply review us on our website product pages. We occasionally send out emails to existing customers about reviewing our products.

Is your product packaging recyclable or compostable?

We are highly committed to sustainable and eco friendly packaging and all our shipping packaging including boxes, envelopes, honey comb wrap and tapes are all recyclable including our acid free tissue paper.

Shipping labels and clear and paper tape are compostable.

Our glass jars and kraft paper foiled pouches are reusable.

The Collagen kraft paper pouches come with a high-quality foil lining to allow for superior, long-term protection against humidity and to preserve product integrity and freshness. While kraft paper is recyclable, our pouches are only reusable. It boasts a zip lock to allow you to indulge in our products and conveniently and continue using the pouch long after you have consumed the product inside.

Regular kraft paper pouches with no foil lining with added in oxygen absorbers are generally not as effective for long-term storage as foil-lined kraft paper bags. While oxygen absorbers remove internal oxygen, they cannot stop oxygen and moisture from seeping through the porous paper over time, whereas foil provides a superior barrier against light, moisture, and air. We will be offering a re-usable glass jar option for our collagen in the near future.

Grass-fed & finished Bovine Collagen Powder

Why grass -fed and finished matters?

Cattle are naturally designed to eat grass, not grain. When raised on a grass-fed and grass-finished diet, they are nourished in alignment with their biology ~ resulting in healthier animals and a higher-quality end product.

Grass-finished cattle graze on diverse pastures, gaining access to a wide range of beneficial plant compounds that support their overall health. This reduces the need for interventions such as antibiotics and promotes a more natural nutrient profile.

The result is a cleaner, more nutrient-dense collagen ~ produced the way nature intended.

If you would like to learn more - explore DISCOVER in the main menu.

Where are your products made and sourced from?

Our Grass-fed and finished Bovine Collagen is Australian crafted & sourced from Grass-fed and finished Brazil cattle from ethical & sustainable farming.

Why did you choose Brazil Cattle instead of Australian Cattle?

In this case, Brazilian sourcing allowed us to meet two non-negotiables at once:

1) true grass-fed and grass-finished cattle, and

2) a clean, neutral-tasting collagen that’s effortless to use every day.

We explored Australian options first ~ it was our preference from the beginning.

However, after a detailed sourcing review, the supplier confirmed that while the cattle were grass-fed and free-range, they were not grass-finished. Some were moved to a mixed grass-and-grain diet towards the end of their life.

Because 100% grass-fed and grass-finished is one of our non-negotiables for purity, quality, and alignment with our values, we chose not to proceed. We weren’t willing to offer a product with half-claims or grey areas.

Instead, we partnered with a trusted Australian supplier who source Brazilian cattle from ethical and sustainable farms that are 100% grass-fed, grass-finished, and pasture-raised, with full traceability from farm to final collagen. This allows us to uphold the standards we set for Poṣaṇa — no compromises, no shortcuts, and no hidden grain finishing.

The Australian supplier we work with provides full documentation and independent testing certificates to show that the collagen is:

  • 100% grass-fed and grass-finished
  • Free from glyphosate, pesticides, hormones, bovaer and antibiotics
  • Non-GMO
  • Free from allergens

While Australian cattle are typically grass-fed but grain-finished, Australian bovine collagen can also have a slightly stronger, more “meaty” taste and aroma. This is due to differences in cattle finishing, raw material handling, and refining processes.

And let’s be honest ~ even the highest-quality collagen won’t support your daily ritual if it ends up sitting in the pantry because you don’t enjoy using it.

Brazilian collagen, on the other hand, is known for being exceptionally neutral in taste and smell, making it ideal for daily mixing into coffee, smoothies, or meals without altering flavour.

By choosing a trusted Brazilian supplier, we’re able to offer collagen that is:

100% grass-fed and grass-finished

Pasture-raised

High-quality, clean and traceable

Unflavoured, neutral, and easy to mix

Invisible in taste and texture

This means you get the best of both worlds ~ purity and performance, without compromising your daily ritual.

Are all free-range or pasture-raised cattle grass-finished?

Not always. While many cattle are pasture-raised, this doesn’t guarantee they are grass-finished.

In some regions, including Australia, cattle may be raised on pasture for most of their lives but finished on grain in certain circumstances ~ such as during drought conditions or to achieve higher marbling.

This change in diet can influence both the nutrient profile and the flavour of the final product.

For those seeking the most natural approach, 100% grass-fed and finished ensures cattle are nourished exclusively on grass and forage for their entire lives ~ without grain finishing.

The Australian supplier we work with provides full documentation and independent testing certificates to show that the collagen is:

  • 100% grass-fed and grass-finished
  • Free from glyphosate, pesticides, hormones, bovaer and antibiotics
  • Non-GMO
  • Free from allergens

Are your products free from hormones, antibiotics, artificial additives, binders and fillers?

Yes absolutely, all of our products are free from:

  • antibiotics
  • hormones
  • glyphosate, bovaer & rumin8
  • fillers, binders, artificial additives or preservatives

What are the differences in collagens?

Our collagen is Type I & Type III

Type I & III Collagen

While 28 different types of collagen have been identified, Types I and III are among the most abundant and widely distributed throughout the body.

Type I Collagen
The most abundant collagen in the human body, Type I provides structural support for the skin, bones, tendons, ligaments, organs, and other connective tissues. Bovine collagen is naturally rich in Type I collagen.

Type III Collagen
Often found alongside Type I, Type III collagen is present in the skin, muscles, blood vessels, organs, and the walls of the intestines and uterus. It contributes to the strength, elasticity, and integrity of these tissues. Bovine collagen is also a natural source of Type III collagen.

What are hydrolysed collagen peptides?

Hydrolysed collagen peptides are collagen proteins that have been broken down into smaller peptide chains through a natural process called hydrolysis. This process makes the collagen easier for the body to digest, absorb, and utilise.

Because the peptides are smaller, they dissolve effortlessly in both hot and cold liquids without altering the taste or texture of your favourite drinks or recipes.

At Poṣaṇa, our collagen is sourced from 100% grass-fed & finished bovine and is gently hydrolysed to create highly bioavailable collagen peptides, providing a simple and convenient way to support your daily nourishment ritual.

What does Bioactive mean?

Bioactive refers to compounds that have a biological effect within the body.

Unlike whole collagen proteins, hydrolysed collagen peptides are small enough to be absorbed into the bloodstream. Once absorbed, these bioactive peptides do more than simply provide amino acids—they may also act as signalling molecules, supporting the body’s natural collagen-building processes and the maintenance of healthy connective tissues.

Combined with their high bioavailability, bioactive collagen peptides offer a simple and effective way to support whole-body nourishment from within.

What’s the difference between hydrolysed collagen and gelatin?

The key difference lies in how far the collagen has been broken down.

Hydrolysed collagen peptides are fully broken down into smaller chains, making them easily absorbed and soluble in any liquid.

Gelatin (partially hydrolysed collagen), on the other hand, is less broken down. It typically only dissolves in warm or hot liquids and forms a gel when cooled, making it less versatile and slower to digest.

Does your collagen have taste or odour?

Our collagen is odourless and unflavoured. It wont alter the taste of your drinks or meals when dissolved completely.

How should i store my products?

Store sealed in a dry place at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.

Do not refrigerate.

How many servings are in each pouch?

Each pouch contains 300g of collagen peptides, providing 30 servings based on the recommended 10g daily serve.

You can choose to take up to two 10g servings per day if desired. At this intake, one pouch will last approximately 15 days.

How long is the shelf life?

Indefinite shelf life when stored correctly. An expiry date will be noted on you're packaging for preference.

How long until i start to notice a difference?

We recommend being consistent with your daily ritual and you will see signs of improvement anywhere between 4-12 weeks

Can i take products together?

Yes — you can absolutely take Collagen and beef organ capsules together. They complement each other beautifully.

Together, they offer a more nose-to-tail approach, covering both structural proteins (collagen) and micronutrient density (organs).

Is your Bovine Collagen suitable during Peri Menopause & Menopause?

Yes. Bovine collagen can support skin, hair, nails, joints, and connective tissue as hormone changes affect collagen production in your second spring. It works best alongside a protein-rich diet, strength training, and nutrient-dense foods to support overall tissue health and recovery.

Grass-fed & finished Organic Organ Blend Capsules

Where are your products made and sourced from?

Our Organic Grass-fed and finished Organ Capsules are crafted in Australia, sourced from Australia Grass-fed and finished cattle from sustainable farming.

Why do we need grass-fed beef organ supplements?

Beef organs are essentially nature's multivitamin, providing concentrated, bioavailable nutrients that are easily absorbed. They act as a "whole food" alternative to synthetic multivitamins.

  • Unmatched Nutrient Density: Beef liver, in particular, is packed with bioavailable heme iron, preformed vitamin A (retinol), folate, and choline.
  • Bioavailability: Heme iron from organs is absorbed 2–3 times better than non-heme iron from plant sources. Similarly, the retinol in liver doesn't require conversion, unlike the beta-carotene in plants.
  • Specific Organ Benefits:
Liver: High in B12, folate, iron, and copper for energy, brain, and immune health.
Heart: A top source of CoQ10, crucial for cellular energy and cardiovascular health.
Kidney: Rich in selenium, zinc, and B12.
Spleen: Provides the highest concentration of heme iron for anemia and fatigue.
  • Convenience: For those who cannot stomach the taste or texture of traditional offal, freeze-dried organ supplements provide these benefits without the culinary, sensory challenges.
  • Hormonal and Immune Support: The nutrients in organs (zinc, selenium, Vitamin A) are critical for supporting hormone balance, particularly for women, and strengthening immune function.

What makes these different from synthetic supplements?

Bioavailability.

Your body recognises and absorbs nutrients in their natural, whole forms with greater ease and efficiency.

Heme iron, found in organs like liver, is absorbed two to three times more effectively than plant-based (non-heme) iron.

Retinol ~ the true form of vitamin A ~ requires no conversion, unlike beta-carotene, allowing your body to use it immediately.

This is nourishment as it exists in nature ~ intuitive, efficient, and deeply supportive.

Why Bioavailability Matters for You?

During seasons of increased demand ~ like menstruation or supporting a growing baby in postpartum ~ your body is drawing more deeply on its nutrient stores. Iron is lost monthly, and even more is required to support recovery and nourish a growing baby.

In these moments, absorption isn’t just important ~ it’s essential.

Whole-food nutrients come in their natural matrix, accompanied by the cofactors your body needs to recognise, absorb, and actually use what you’re taking.

Are your products free from hormones, antibiotics, artificial additives, binders and fillers?

Yes absolutely, all of our products are free from:

Antibiotics, hormones, glyphosate, bovaer, rumin8, fillers, binders, artificial additives or preservatives

Why don't you have a Certified Organic logo on your labels?

To display an organic logo in Australia, every single 'link' in the chain ~ from the farm to the person putting the lid on the bottle ~ must be individually certified. While our cattle, raw materials, and manufacturing are all 100% certified organic, our final packing stage is not yet certified. To stay compliant with Australian labelling laws, we describe our ingredients as certified organic rather than labelling the final finished product as 'Certified Organic.' Same premium quality, just total transparency.

What does "nose-to-tail mean'?

It's a traditional way of honouring the whole animal.

"Nose-to-Tail" Nutrition: Historically, humans consumed the entire animal, including organs, which are drastically more nutrient-dense than muscle meat. Modern diets favor lean, convenient muscle cuts, leaving a "void in nutrition" regarding essential micronutrients.

Ancestral wisdom

The Philosophy Behind It

Nose-to-tail eating is not just nutritional. It's ethical.

It honours the whole animal.

It reduces waste.

It respects life.

It says: If we take, we honour fully.

– Reducing waste

– Honouring the whole animal

– Nutrient density differences between muscle meat vs organs

How many servings are in each jar?

Each jar contains 120 capsules, providing 30 servings based on the recommended daily intake of 4 capsules.

You may choose to take up to 6 capsules per day if desired. At this intake, one jar will last approximately 20 days.

How long is the shelf life?

An expiry date will be noted on you're packaging for preference.

How long until i start to notice a difference?

We recommend being consistent with your daily ritual and you will see signs of improvement anywhere between 4-12 weeks

Can i take products together?

Yes ~ you can absolutely take Collagen and beef organ capsules together. They complement each other beautifully.

Together, they offer a more nose-to-tail approach, covering both structural proteins (collagen) and micronutrient density (organs).

Is it safe?

For most healthy adults, yes ~ when taken as directed.

However, be mindful if:

• You’re pregnant or breastfeeding

• You have iron overload conditions (e.g., haemochromatosis)

• You’re taking medication

• You already consume high amounts of liver

Because isolated organ supplements (especially liver & spleen) are high in vitamin A and heme iron, you don’t want excessive intake of either vitamin.

For context:

  • The recommended vitamin A dietary intake during pregnancy in Australia is about 770 mcg retinol equivalents per day depending on you age.
  • The upper limit for preformed vitamin A is much higher (around 3,000 mcg/day for adults).

With a serving providing 0.04 mg (40 mcg) vitamin A, the vitamin A contribution in our organ blend capsules is modest and would generally not be considered excessive during pregnancy.

Are your Organ blend capsules suitable during Peri-Menopause & Menopause?

Yes. Our organ capsules can be a helpful addition during your second spring, especially if you don’t regularly eat organ meats or want extra nutrient support. They work best as part of a balanced diet, adequate protein, and regular strength training, supporting energy, immunity, and overall wellbeing.

Safety / Disclaimer

Should i take a blood test to check my iron levels first before taking organ blend capsules?

Sometimes women experience low iron stores during pregnancy or as they move into perimenopause, while others may have adequate or even high iron. This is why individual context and blood work matter so much.

Beef spleen is a natural powerhouse of highly absorbable heme iron. Our organ blend ~ featuring liver, heart, kidney and spleen ~ offer a rich array of nutrients with a more balanced iron content. For those looking to support their iron levels more directly, pure spleen capsules can be a thoughtful addition to a personalised wellness routine specifically for targeted support in iron deficiency.

*If you’re ever unsure about your iron status, it’s best to speak with your GP or healthcare provider about checking ferritin and a full iron panel.

Organ supplements containing liver and spleen can contribute dietary iron, but it’s still important to base your approach on your personal levels and needs.

Have your products been tested?

All ingredients are carefully third party tested for heavy metals, pesticides and microbiological contaminants to ensure purity and safety. The environmentally-friendly production processes guarantee the highest degree of purity and product safety.

Are there any allergens in your products?

Our products have been tested for Allergens.

Across our entire product range, none of our products contain gluten, dairy, or Soy. This includes our Collagen & Organ capsules.

We recognise these allergens are a concern for many people, we ensure they are not included in our formulations.

At Poṣaṇa product integrity and safety are a priority. Maternal wellness

Is it safe to take during pregnancy?

Ancestral Organ Blend Capsules

Pregnancy is a time when your body’s nutritional needs reach their peak. It’s not just about eating for two but about deeply nourishing both you and your growing baby with the most nutrient-dense, whole-food, bioavailable foods possible.

While modern prenatal vitamins often attempt to fill the gaps, they can’t quite replicate the complexity of whole foods, especially beef organs, which contain the full spectrum of vitamins and minerals in the exact forms your body recognises.

Beef organs are naturally rich in essential nutrients that support fetal development, including iron, choline, B vitamins, and vitamin A in its active form. These nutrients play important roles in placenta function, brain development, and maintaining your own energy throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

However, when it comes to organ supplements ~ particularly those containing liver & spleen ~ it’s important to be mindful of intake. Liver is a concentrated source of vitamin A and iron & spleen is a natural powerhouse of highly absorbable heme iron. Which are vital during pregnancy, but can be harmful in excessive amounts.

For this reason, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider They can help ensure your intake is appropriate for your individual needs.

Every pregnancy is unique, and personalised guidance is always best.

Because isolated organ supplements (especially liver & spleen) are high in vitamin A and iron, you don’t want excessive intake of either vitamin.

For context:

  • The recommended vitamin A dietary intake during pregnancy in Australia is about 770 mcg retinol equivalents per day depending on your age.
  • The upper limit for preformed vitamin A is much higher (around 3,000 mcg/day for adults).

With our organ blend capsules the serving providing 0.04 mg (40 mcg) vitamin A, the vitamin A contribution is modest and would generally not be considered excessive during pregnancy.

Bovine Collagen Peptides

Collagen can be a gentle and supportive addition during pregnancy and postpartum, helping you meet increased protein needs during a time of rapid growth and change.

As a structural protein, collagen provides key amino acids that support your body’s connective tissues ~ including the uterus, skin, joints, and abdominal wall ~ as they adapt and expand throughout pregnancy. It may also help support skin elasticity as your body changes.

Our Bovine Collagen Peptides are a simple, single-ingredient protein source, making them an easy addition to smoothies, coffee, or meals.

As with any supplement during pregnancy, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before use to ensure it aligns with your individual needs.

Is it safe to take during breastfeeding?

Bovine Collagen Peptides

Collagen can be a simple and supportive addition during breastfeeding, helping you meet increased protein needs while your body recovers and nourishes your baby.

As a source of amino acids, collagen supports tissue repair, skin elasticity, and overall recovery postpartum. Glycine, one of its key amino acids, may also support relaxation and sleep quality ~ something many new mothers deeply need.

Our Bovine Collagen Peptides are a single-ingredient protein source, making them easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

As always, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before adding any supplement while breastfeeding to ensure it aligns with your individual needs.

Ancestral Organ Blend Capsules

Beef organs are among the most nutrient-dense whole foods, providing bioavailable vitamins and minerals that can support your recovery during the postpartum period.

Many of these nutrients ~ including B12, choline, and trace minerals ~ play important roles in your own energy, nervous system support, and overall nourishment during breastfeeding.

While many mothers choose to include organ-based supplements during this time, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider to ensure your intake is appropriate for your individual needs, particularly due to naturally occurring nutrients like vitamin A and iron.

Supporting your own nourishment is one of the most important ways to support your baby.

Does it support milk production and quality?

Ancestral Organ Blend Capsules

Breast milk composition can reflect your overall nutritional status. Nutrients such as B12, choline, and selenium ~ naturally found in organ foods ~ can be transferred through breast milk and support your baby’s development.

These nutrients also play a role in your own recovery, energy production, and hormone balance during the transition from pregnancy to lactation.

While organ supplements can support overall nourishment, they are not a direct guarantee of increased milk supply.

Bovine Collagen Peptides

There is no evidence that collagen directly increases milk supply or prolactin levels.

However, as a high-quality protein source, collagen can:

• Help you meet increased protein needs while breastfeeding

• Support tissue repair and postpartum recovery

• Contribute to overall nourishment, which indirectly supports healthy lactation

Does it help with fertility?

Bovine Collagen Peptides

Protein plays an important role in reproductive health, hormone production, and overall fertility. Collagen can be a convenient way to support adequate protein intake.

It also contains glycine, an amino acid involved in the production of glutathione—an antioxidant that helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

While collagen supports overall health, it should be viewed as one piece of a broader, nutrient-rich diet when supporting fertility.

Ancestral Organ Blend  Capsules

Nutrition plays a foundational role in reproductive health for both men and women.

Organ meats provide a wide spectrum of bioavailable nutrients ~ including iron, B vitamins, choline, and fat-soluble vitamins ~ that support hormone balance, egg and sperm health, and overall reproductive function.

Rather than isolated nutrients, these compounds exist in their natural forms within whole foods, working together to support the body’s systems.

While organ supplements can be a powerful addition to a nutrient-dense diet, they are best used alongside personalised guidance ~ especially when preparing for conception.

We honour this sacred season of pre-conception, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Please seek guidance from your qualified healthcare provider before introducing any new supplement during this time.

Food-based supplements can be powerful ~ always listen to your body and seek personalised medical advice where needed.

If you’re ever unsure about your iron status, it’s best to speak with your GP or healthcare provider about checking ferritin and a full iron panel.
